Things to do in Peebles

Peebles is renowned for it’s abundance of privately owned shops, so if shopping is your thing this is quite a little haven. There are many pubs and restaurants along the high street. We are also now lucky to have our own Theatre, The Eastgate, which has a huge variety of shows, films, comedy and music. It also has an excellent programme running for kids including summer work shops. I’ll make sure there is an up to date programme in the flat!

For the outdoor enthusiasts the walking, cycling and fishing are second to none in and around Peebles. Fishing permits and tuition can be arranged.

Worth of note is the farmer’s monthly market, Forsythes the butchers, (locally loved by all meat eaters, and bread next door highly recommended). Fish van on Thursdays in Eastgate car park, reasonably cheap and delicious.

The Gytes has a strong keep-fit program running and hosts roller blading for kids of all ages from 2.30 and 3.30 on a Saturday. There is also Peebles Swimming pool for those rainy days.
