I create small editions of timeless handcrafted precious jewellery.
In the tradition of the studio jeweller each project is undertaken from the beginning to its end, from the design to the final polish.
I am drawn to the simplicity of modernist art and design, and inspired by art jewellers of that era. Calder, Bertiola, Art Smith are a constant inspiration and pleasure.
My work is quite sculptural and often evolves out of the making process. I use a variety of traditional metalsmithing techniques and am attracted to the way I can physically engage with material. The time spent on each piece, the often repetitive movement is a kind of ritual and meditation.
